Secret Garden...

With the weather picking up... we have finally got round to prettifying our little garden...

Using an vintage metal bucket... we filled it with these gorgeous blue flowers to give the garden a fresh look...

If you fancy trying this remember to drill some holes in the bottom of your bucket for drainage...

I'm sure I will be posting more of our garden pictures as the weather gets better! :) I hope...

Mollie Makes... Crochet Flower...

This weekend I finally got round to making my cute crochet flower brooch...

... the fantastic little project by Anna Rakoniewska, featured in this months Mollie Makes magazine...

After a lovely girly weekend with my mam for Mothers Day, we decided to spend some time on the cute crochet activity...

After a couple of attempts we managed to get our flowers looking how we wanted :)

...and I'm really happy with the final result...

My mam pinned hers to one of her favourite tops... and I think I might attach mine to a cushion as a decorative detail...

Has anyone else made their MM crochet flower?

I would love to hear how you got on... so please leave a comment below...

Mollie Makes... Flowers...

As you all know I'm loving the new Mollie Makes craft magazine... Every issue comes with a crafty kit to make yourself...

Issue Two of Mollie Makes came with this cute make it yourself felt flower kit...
I made mine into a pretty hanging decoration, however you could make a little brooch, handbag charm or even wear it on your wrist...

After making my first felt flower using the Mollie Makes kit... I loved it so much I decided to make another using darker coloured felts and a cute vintage button...

I also transformed the felt flower which I made at The Wilderness Festival into another little hanging decoration, using some pretty ribbon and a button from Libertys...

Why not have a go at making your own crafty felt flower... Take a look at the Mollie Makes webpage for the template and just click on the picture of issue2...

I love to hear your thoughts so why not leave a comment below...  I love reading them...
or if you have made up your own Mollie Makes felt flower I would love to see it... leave a comment with your link...

Country Cushions...

Fabric Remnant - Laura Ashley

Floral Cushions - Handmade by daffodils & snowdrops

Make your own country style cushions from pretty fabric off-cuts and remnants...

Many home furnishing shops sell small off-cuts of fabric... The fabric I used above is from Laura Ashley Home... Using fabric remnants is a cheap way to make charming cushions or other country home accessories...

To make your own tab cushions; First choose your cushion pad size and cut two fabric squares to fit... Prepare the facing for the edge of your cushion and the fabric for your tie tabs... Then sew it all together... Take a look at your local library for some good books on home accessory and cushion making...

daffodils & snowdrops would love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment below...
