The Painted House...

I recently met the lovely Claire Bosanquet...
designer/maker of 'The Painted House' patterned paint rollers...

When travelling in Romania, Claire came across some beautiful vintage paint rollers... great for up-cycling fabric or making your own wall paper...

Once back home she went on to adapt and re-create these paint rollers... in many different patterns... so that we too can enjoy decorating our homes...
My favourite has to be No.6 deer pattern... which is yours?..

If you would like your own patterned roller...
take a look at The Painted House online shop...

Getting Messy... Annie Sloan Paint Workshop Part 2...

I promised you that coming soon would be part 2 of my ‘GettingMessy… Annie Sloan Paint Workshop’…

However thank you to my rubbishy Internet provider I have not been able to do this!..

So a bit later than promised… here is part 2… enjoy

Alongside learning all of Home Barns wonderful techniques on how to give furniture a vintage/ antiqued feel…

They also up-cycled an old set of worn out draws, showing us the before and after…

…and how fabulous the finished look was…

Working with Annie Sloan Chalk Black and Paris Grey paint they transformed the tired set of draws… Finishing with a coat of wax, carefully distressing and finally adding some vintage paper to the draw handles to complete the look…

I love it! what do you think?...

After absorbing all of these wonderful hints and tips thorough out the day… we finished by decorating our own wooden letter (or in my case ampersand)…

...all I need now is a D and a S :)

I had a wonderful day and decided to treat myself to some Annie Sloan wax and paint brush!.. so I can have a go at up-cycling some furniture of my own at home…

Take a look at the Home Barn website for more details on the course…
