(you will have 15st around the outside of your circle, as in picture)

Move your stitch marker to this point

To start the spiral on the front of the flower...
You will be working into both loops around the outside of the circle and the unused loops spiralling the centre of the of the circle...

...just before your stitch marker
(this is what your work will look like)

You will then work into the first unused loop nearest to you...
(in the centre of your work)
...work 2tr into the first stitch
...1tr into the next stitch
Repeat this until you reach the last stitch at the spiral base, in the centre of your work...

(your work should now look like this)

Now you will be working outwards from the centre of the spiral, creating the petals of the flower...
First... ch2...

...miss the first stitch
...1dc into the second stitch
...miss the third
...2tr into the forth
...miss the fifth
...1dc into the sixth

then... miss the seventh stitch
...3tr into the eighth stitch
...miss the ninth
...1dc into the tenth
Repeat this again

now... miss the next stitch
...4tr into the next stitch
...miss the next
...1dc into the next
Repeat this twice more

...miss the next stitch
...5tr into the next stitch
...miss the next
...1dc into the next
Repeat this three more times

You will now have the back of your work facing you...

...miss the next stitch
...6tr into the next stitch
...miss the next
...1dc into the next
Repeat this four more times

Once you reach the end of your flower remove your stitch marker...

Mollie Makes... Crochet Flower...

This weekend I finally got round to making my cute crochet flower brooch...

... the fantastic little project by Anna Rakoniewska, featured in this months Mollie Makes magazine...

After a lovely girly weekend with my mam for Mothers Day, we decided to spend some time on the cute crochet activity...

After a couple of attempts we managed to get our flowers looking how we wanted :)

...and I'm really happy with the final result...

My mam pinned hers to one of her favourite tops... and I think I might attach mine to a cushion as a decorative detail...

Has anyone else made their MM crochet flower?

I would love to hear how you got on... so please leave a comment below...

Mollie Makes... Crochet Mug Cosy...

As some of my twitter friends might know, I haven't been feeling well this week... so when my Mollie Makes issue 7 magazine dropped through the letter box it really brightened me up... and I couldn't wait to get started on some of the lovely projects...

After reading the front cover, I turned straight to the 'How to Make... A Woolen Mug Cosy' by Knit Storm ...

I fell in love with the cute cosies and got straight to work on crocheting my own...

... and here is the final result

... my own chunky crochet mug cosy, complete with hanging heart...

What do you think?..

Mollie Makes... Flowers...

As you all know I'm loving the new Mollie Makes craft magazine... Every issue comes with a crafty kit to make yourself...

Issue Two of Mollie Makes came with this cute make it yourself felt flower kit...
I made mine into a pretty hanging decoration, however you could make a little brooch, handbag charm or even wear it on your wrist...

After making my first felt flower using the Mollie Makes kit... I loved it so much I decided to make another using darker coloured felts and a cute vintage button...

I also transformed the felt flower which I made at The Wilderness Festival into another little hanging decoration, using some pretty ribbon and a button from Libertys...

Why not have a go at making your own crafty felt flower... Take a look at the Mollie Makes webpage for the template and just click on the picture of issue2...

I love to hear your thoughts so why not leave a comment below...  I love reading them...
or if you have made up your own Mollie Makes felt flower I would love to see it... leave a comment with your link...

Mollie Makes... Issue 1...

As you might remember from my last Mollie Makes post... I missed out on issue 1...

I asked you, my fantastic blog readers, to leave a comment if you had any ideas where I could get my hands on one, or even if someone would like to donate me their copy of Mollie Makes issue1... I received some great ideas and thoughts from you all on where to get my own copy... but unfortunately I could still not find a paper copy of the mag...

Image - from Mollie Makes magazine

Then... a lovely lady called Elizabeth, living in America contacted me and said she had a copy of Mollie Makes issue1 that she would be happy to donate to me!...

One of Elizabeth's favorite sections in Mollie Makes issue1 is the 'Paula Mills (Lovely Sweet William) home tour'... she especially loved the hand made heart cushion on page 43...
However Elizabeth had been unsuccessful in contacting 'Lovely Sweet William' to order a cushion of her own...

I helped to put Elizabeth in touch with Shelley Gardner (the other half of Lovely Sweet William, working together with Paula Mills) who makes the fantastic heart cushions...
Together the crafty pair draw, blog and create beautiful items for their online shop...
Check out 'Lovely Sweet William' on Etsy...

I would like to say a big thank you to Elizabeth who kindly donated me her copy of Mollie Makes issue1... I absolutely love it!... I hope you managed to successfully order your 'handmade heart cushion' from 'Lovely Sweet William'...
