Happy valentines day...

Love decorative blocks - The Decorated Room

My husband gave me these gorgeous letter blocks this Valentines day... A great way to give a country feel to a bare shelf...
Why not make your own... plain wooden blocks are inexpensive and can be bought from good craft stores... get creative by painting the blocks and adding your own letters!

Buttons...

Button box - Car boot sale

Decorative jar - Handmade by daffodils & snowdrops
Home block letters - Laura Ashley

I love to collect buttons and picked up this old tin full of buttons at a very reasonable price from a local car boot. As well as being practical buttons can make quite decorative updates to simple house hold items...
Thread colourful buttons onto a piece of metal wire, attach around the neck of a glass jar and add a wire handle to make an attractive tea light or simply a decorative piece...
