So... whilst I have been absent from blogging, what have I been up to...
One of my projects... and a big project at that... was making this beautiful crochet baby blanket for my new little son...

I used the basic pattern from the
'Cute & Easy Crochet' book by Nicki Trench...
and adjusted it to suit...
It took me a while but I finally got there!..

A while back you probably noticed the 'Be Back Soon' note on my blog... 

Well... I decided to have a little break from blogging... what you probably didn't know was that I was preparing for a new little arrival to our family...

In December our baby boy was born... Isaac :)

Eventually after a lot of sleepless nights (which I am sure will continue for a while)... and many fun filled days with our new little one... I am back! and excited to start blogging again...

I look forward to sharing some new posts with you all soon...

Vintage Herb Garden...

Vintage Ceramic Sink - Salvo Fair 2012

 I recently spent a fantastic day out at the 'Salvo Fair 2012'...

An annual outdoor salvage fair, this year held in the picturesque grounds of Stubbings Estate in Berkshire...

After spending a good few hours browsing all the salvaged and reclaimed items... I settled on treating myself to this gorgeous ceramic sink...

I have been fancying one for a while now to house a little herb garden... so was over the moon when I got my hands on this!..

I quickly filled it with some of my favourite herbs... 

Oregano... Thyme... Parsley... and Chives...

Marvellous Marble Cake...

Recently... I've been pulling out the cookery books and treating myself to a bit of home baking...

I came across this marvellous marble cake recipe, in my 'Great British Bake Off' book...

A simple yet very delicious recipe... using both white and dark chocolate and a Madeira style cake mix...

Needless to say it did not last long :)
