Being Creative... Summer...

This month Julia Crossland is running a 'Being Creative' check in gallery on the subject of 'Summer'...
You can enter your links/photos up until the 31st August... So what are you waiting for... Just click on the link above...
With the Summer theme in mind, I decided I would like my blog post to focus on the Scents of Summer...

Candle - Handmade by daffodils & snowdrops
Decorative Milk Jug - Second Hand Shop
Fragrance - Vanilla

Candle - Handmade by daffodils & snowdrops
Mini Tea Cup - Our Own
Fragrance -Lavender

Candle - Handmade by daffodils & snowdrops
Decorative Tea Cup - Zara Home
Fragrance -Rose

As a gift for one of my birthdays, my parents set me up with a fantastic candle making kit... Since then I have enjoyed making my own unique candles, using various different scents and colours...
For the candles above I have used three different fragrances, which remind me of 'Summer'...
Vanilla... Lavender... and Rose...

I am currently in the process of setting up an etsy shop, selling some of our favourite 'daffodils & snowdrops' handcrafted items... So it would be great to hear your thoughts on our handmade candles... please leave a comment below...

  6. How fantastic Em, I love the idea of re-using jugs and tea cups - and the scents sound so summery! That snail is so amazing - sitting amongst all the gilt!
    Hope you make some more!

  7. These are just wonderful. And I particularly love the second candle - the vanilla one. That little cup makes me think of a summer's day in Greece!

  11. These teacup candles are very popular still aren't they? I love it when the scent of the candle is somehow reflected in the pattern, the colour of the cups - like you have lavender in the blue edged mini cup... lavender blue, dilly dilly.

  12. Thanks for your comment Maggie, yeah they are quite popular... It is a nice idea to reflect the design of the tea cup, with the colour or scent...
