Christmas Advent Swap...

As you may know from my previous post,
a few months ago I signed up to
After two months of hard crafting my partner and I were ready to swap...

...and yesterday I received my gorgeous advent swap parcel from Sarah at Tilly Mint Boutique blog...
I was absolutely thrilled when I opened my package!.. My advent gifts are beautifully wrapped in a lovely Christmasy box...
There were even some chocolates and sweets mixed in :)

I cant wait to open my little advent packages each day!..

Also bundled up inside my parcel was a bigger gift for Christmas day!...
and a little Christmas card, which looked very familiar...
I sent the exact same card to Sarah!..

These are the advent swap gifts I sent to Sarah...

I chose which gift I would like Sarah to open each day and then numbered them accordingly...

... I then wrapped up her bigger Christmas day present in hand stamped brown paper... I made the stampers out of potato halves and cut in Christmas tree and star designs...

I hope that Sarah is as happy with her package as I am with mine!...

I will be blogging up to Christmas on what I receive from Sarah and what I have sent to her... So keep and eye on the blog...

Check out Sarah's lovely blog, Tilly Mint Boutique to see her advent swap posts...

I Love Letters...

Large vintage letter - Flee market in Paris

Assorted vintage letters -
Flee market in Paris

Reclaimed vintage shop letters make unique home decorations... I love these painted steel letters, which I came across in a flee market in Paris...

They would look great above a fireplace, on a shelf or hung on the wall... You could also use letters in different shapes, sizes and colours to spell out names or words...

Christmas is coming... Advent Swap...

As you can see I have made good use of the basket I bought from the Braderie de Lille back in September...
Turning it into a crafty basket...

Over the past month or so I have been very busy rummaging through my craft basket and preparing my handmade items for the Advent Swap which I am taking part in, hosted by the lovely Linda at Hookin With Laalaa blog...

My partner is Tilly Mint Boutique...
Take a look at her beautiful blog...

Unfortunately as the advent bits I have made are a secret until we exchange, I can't show you what I have been up to... However not long now, so keep your eyes on the blog to check out what I receive from Tilly Mint Boutique and what I have made her!..

Pretty as a Picture...

Decorative Pictures -
Handmade by daffodils & snowdrops

I love making pretty decorative pictures from the little bits and pieces in my craft stash...

Here I have used some left over Laura Ashley wall paper pieces as the base of my pictures... You can then add little decorative items such as buttons, beads and handmade paper...

To make my pictures, I decided to use some delicate skeleton leaves, decorative buttons from Liberty and the V&A, mini sparkly gems and even a little vintage style key...

Then all you need to do is choose your frame... I added a bit of hessian rope to the back of my frame for hanging...

A simple way to create a beautiful picture...

Vintage Style Tea Cosy...

Hand Knitted Tea Cosy -
by Jennifer daffodils & snowdrops

Recently, Jennifer has been busy knitting up these gorgeous vintage style tea cosies...

The pattern uses moss stitch and can be bought from Treacle Wool Shop in Morpeth, Northumberland...

For these two pretty little cosies Jennifer used 100% merino yarn in teal and pale pink...

She then decorated them by adding a bow in contrasting velvet tape and a decorative button... With the pale pink cosy she also added a little crochet pink flower...

The teal cosy was a gift for me!... and it now stands proudly on display in my kitchen, over one of my lovely vintage tea pots...
