Knitting and Stitching Show...

The Knitting & Stitching Show 2011 -
Alexandra Palace

Recently I enjoyed a day out at the
Knitting & Stitching Show 2011, Alexandra Palace, London...

The Knitting & Stitching Show is one of the best textile exhibitions in Europe and is held in three different venues in the UK...

Along with many knitting and stitching sellers, there are lots of other craft stalls including, embroidery, felt , jewellery accessories and card-making...

One of my favourite stands was
Blooming Felt...
Offering gorgeous wool felt craft supplies and a colourful selection of 'pick & mix' felt balls...

Whilst at the show I of course treated myself to a few bits and bobs...

I love this 'Big Crochet Kit' by Ingrid Wagner... Including a 'Big' crochet hook and recycled yarn... I cant wait to get started on a chunky crochet cushion...

I also picked up some other little bits to add to my craft stash...

I had a wonderful day out... and would definitely recommend it to any keen crafters!...

This year the Knitting & Stitching Show will also be in:
Dublin from the 10th - 13th November
Harrogate from the 24th - 27th November

Don't miss out! Book your tickets now at the Twisted Thread website...

Perfect Pottery...

Milland Pottery in Hampshire, West Sussex

Recently two good friends of mine,
Michelle and Ollie,
visited Milland Pottery in Hampshire...

They had a great day out creating their own handmade pottery, using earthenware clay on a potter's wheel... Then colouring their handcrafted items with coloured slips and glazing them...

Light mint blue ceramic pots -

 I love the final results...
A charming set of rustic handmade ceramic wares...
They would make a beautiful feature in any country style home...

Wilderness Festival... Felting...

Felt Making at Wilderness Festival

Last weekend myself and my husband Namik visited 'The Wilderness Festival' in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire...
It was a fantastic day full of excellent music, great food and drink, and even crafting!..

There were many crafters running different workshops throughout the day...
We visited Emma Fountain's Felt Making tent, in the Green Crafts field...

You could make lots of different felt creations in the workshop... I decided to have a go at felt flower making...

Namik even got involved... trying his hand at felt covered soap...

There was an abundance of different coloured felting wools and various bits & bobs to help you make your creation...

 The final result...

My pretty felted flower...

Namik's fantastic felted soap...

We had a brilliant time at the festival... and really enjoyed the 'Felt Making' workshop...
Thank you Emma!!!

We even bought some felting materials to try it ourselves at home... Keep an eye on the blog!

Emma Fountain visits many different music festivals, art festivals and country shows throughout the year, carrying out her felting workshops... she also runs a variety of different courses...

Recently my husband and I visited Bridge End Gardens in Saffron Walden, Essex...

Bridge End Gardens are a series of seven interlinked beautiful gardens... with many secret doors and hiding places...

The colourful flowers and interesting gardening techniques show off the splendid Victorian style design of the gardens...

Loose yourself in the fascinating hedge maze...

The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, including a sunken Dutch Garden,
a Walled Garden and a Hedge Maze...
These tranquil gardens are must visit and a great source of inspiration for your own country garden... however big or small...
